Metal Clay Makers 2016

I am excited to have been chosen as one of the Metal Clay Makers for 2016

Who are the Metal Clay Makers?
The Metal Clay Makers are a small group of designers who choose to use Metal Clay Ltd products in their work because they believe in their quality and reliability.
Metal Clay Ltd support the MC Makers with materials and tools, provide lots of inspiration and advice, send them new products to test and critique, and enjoy regular chat sessions.
What does the programme entail?
It is a sixth month programme, beginning in July, to try, test and review products from Metal Clay Ltd.

Why did I apply?
I decided to apply because I use and recommend Metal Clay Ltd products all the time, they are one of the main suppliers for the London Jewellery School pop up shop (where I work). Additionally, I loved the idea of the challenge element of it, to use materials and tools I might not otherwise try and see what comes out of that experimentation.

I shall be blogging my progress over the next sixth months and I'm looking forward to getting started!

January 2016 - filming for Jewellery School Online

I have been filming tutorials for Jewellery School Online. Jewellery School Online allows you to buy and access jewellery tutorials for life. So far I have filmed a stone setting in silver clay class (torch fired techniques) and have contributed to the jewellery business course.
The stone setting course features three stone setting techniques

1. setting man made stones
2. setting a glass cabochon
3. setting stones that can't be fired using a bezel cup

All the techniques can be torch fired so no kiln is required.

October 2012. Very excited that the comedy actress Sarah Alexander was filmed wearing a pendant I was commissioned to make for her! She stars in the new comedy Me and Mrs Jones on BBC1 and I was asked to make a silver 'good luck' pendant for her by her husband.
